Iowa Executive Healthcare Symposium 2015

By: Catherine Gehlsen The 37th annual Iowa Healthcare Executive Symposium, “Preparing for (More) Financial Risk” was held on September 24th, 2015. It provided students with numerous opportunities to hear different lectures on exciting healthcare topics and to network with alumni and healthcare executives from across the country. The symposium kicked off with a Speed Networking event. This gave the new Health Management and Policy graduate students the opportunity to network with different healthcare executives. It also gave them the opportunity to learn new networking techniques. The students that did participate all said that it was very beneficial for their future careers. This was followed by two keynote speakers: Ray Hershman and Tom Manak. Ray Hershman’s lecture was on Value Based Reimbursement: Succeeding with Payments Based on Attributed Lives.
