Job Summary: Associate Executive Administrator: 

The Associate Executive Administrator supports the Executive Administrator in coordinating and directing broad and complex financial and management functions that advance the Department's programmatic vision, mission and strategic plan across all missions. Participates in the development of short and long-term plans for the business affairs of the Department of Pediatrics, including offsite clinical programs. Manages finance, business development and strategic planning within the Department. Works with the department and section leadership to conduct ongoing assessment of, and response to, growth opportunities and unmet needs within Department. Participates in the creation and development of business plans. Identifies opportunities to leverage cross-program strengths to take advantage of new opportunities and/or to address organizational challenges. Establishes collaborative relationships across the Department, the Biological Sciences Division and Medical Center to ensure alignment with departmental and organizational goals. 

Acts as the top financial advisor to management within the department to ensure alignment with departmental mission, vision and goals including oversight for finances, budget, revenue and expense management, financial reporting and accounting, oversight and management of incentive plans, and decision support services. 

This is a senior-level position and provides the opportunity to work directly with leading physicians and academics. 
 

Education Requirements: Bachelor's degree in finance, business, accounting, or a related field required. 

Advanced degree in business, finance, health care administration or related field strongly preferred.


Experience Requirements: A minimum of five years of progressively responsible administrative/supervisory experience required. 
A minimum of five years of healthcare experience required. 
Experience in financial management, administration, personnel management, and business development required. 
Experience negotiating on behalf of a clinical unit in order to accomplish goals required. 
Experience accomplishing goals within timeframe and within budget required. 

Academic medical center experience preferred. 
Experience in clinical operations preferred. 
Solid record of successful leadership with emphasis on operations, strategy and business development in the healthcare field preferred.
